GOLFING
Nelson Bay Golf Club is located near the CBD of Nelson Bay and stunning waterways of Port Stephens just 40 minutes north of Newcastle and 2.5hrs north of Sydney. It is an impressive 27-hole golf course on 175 acres of challenging tree lined fairways. It is an idyllic setting and home to kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, native birds and the occasional goanna.
The course is maintained to an extremely high standard to showcase its beauty and challenging layout. The variable tee positions and undulating holes will test the keenest of golfers.
With demanding par 3’s, daring par 4’s and long par 5’s that can out drive the strongest of “grip it & rippers”; the 22nd is particularly challenging at 535m. The serene lakes and deceiving bunkers make the 13th and 14th holes pretty to watch but can be a punishment if not navigated well. Our most picturesque hole, the 18th is surrounded by blooming Christmas bush in the summer months and if there is a hole that could make anyone’s day with a hole in one it would be the 20th. It’s a hold your breath tee shot straight down a tree lined hill to a green at the base of it.
With no traffic noise, the only distractions to your day will be the occasional bird call or native audience!
BECOME A GOLF MEMBER
Becoming a member of Nelson Bay has never been easier. Various categories of golf memberships allow you to match the cost with your use of the course. All golf memberships provide access to the club house facilities 7 days per week.
Dress Code
All players are expected to be dressed neatly at all times. Here are the items considered as suitable and not suitable for the course.

MENS
To secure your timeslot you just need to log into the timesheets by going through your member login on the website or at the Club kiosks.
The draw for playing on Wednesdays is done on a Tuesday evening at 4:30pm (for those who wish to play early) and 5:00pm (for those who wish to play later).
The draw for playing on Saturdays is done on a Thursday evening at 4:30pm (for those who wish to play early) and 5:00pm (for those who wish to play later).
LADIES
Nelson Bay Golf Club ladies has always been a strong contingent since 1962. The Club has its own ladies committee who run weekly competitions and major events throughout the year such as the Ladies Gala Day (February), Ladies Club Championships (July/August) and Ladies Golf Classic (September).
Tuesdays:
Playing Members can book in for all competitions either online or at the kiosk in the Club premises one week before competition date. All Tuesday competition games will be from the RED Markers.
