We had an excellent day weather wise. The attendance was a fantastic 46 players comprising 30 junior players under the age of 17 years with handicaps and 16 cadets with no handicaps. All players had a great day and some really good golf being played. We had players from afar afield as The Federal Club in Canberra and from Port Macquarie.
The Girls Scratch winner was Pyper Hollis from Kew with a 79 playing off 7 from the red markers and the Boys Scratch winner was Tom Hunt from Mona Vale with a 78 playing off 4 from the black markers. How good was that!
The Girls Net winner was An Nguyen from Moore Park and the Boys net winner was Jake Riley from Toronto.
We had some very generous sponsors support with Port Stephens Council, Nelson Bay Golf Club and the Nelson Bay Early Birds being our major sponsors. Thank you also to our mayor, Ryan Palmer, who attended to present the prizes to the players. A very special mention must go to Will Semmens of Bluewater Grill. Will supplied a lunch bag for every one of the players and he also provided a sausage sizzle for everyone before their game. Many thanks also to Maurie Moses and Warren Moses from our Pro Shop for their support.
I would also like to thank our volunteers without whom it would be impossible to run these events. A very big thank you to David Rann for his support and doing a great job as Master of Ceremonies.
That brings me to the most important person as far as i'm concerned and that is Warren Moses. The time that he spends teaching and coaching these young people is amazing and he does such a wonderful job. Many thanks Warren.

Hopefully bigger and better next year.
