A Special Resolution to amend the Constitution
Last Monday 19th October, a large number of members attended a Special General Meeting to discuss and vote on a Special Resolution to change the Constitution to include a Vice Captain on the Board.

With only 1 vote against, the Special Resolution was easily carried and the position of Vice Captain is now on the voting forms, available from Reception, during the Nomination Period which closes on November 2nd. If required, this will be followed by the Voting period which opens on Friday 13th November and closes on Friday 27th November.

The results will be announced on Monday 30th November at the AGM, which starts at 7pm. The full notice is on our Club website.

On Sunday 18th October the Regional Finals of the Golf NSW 2 person Keno Ambrose were held at Pacific Dunes and our members did very well, as follows:-

Robyn Rocher & Robyn Kennett were 3rd
Di McLean & Cara Frires were 10th

Gavin Rocher & Fran Giudes were 6th
Scott Ferguson & Karen West were 8th

Craig MacKenzie & Mark Woods were 13th
Steve Rigby & David Owens were 14th

Mens Pennants
On Monday 19th October our Super Seniors played Pacific Dunes at Muree and won 8-0. Our team manager, Paul Kennedy, was so overwhelmed he had to be revived with a light refreshment.

B & C Grade pennants did not do very well but could still make their final series with good performances in the final round. Subsequently, both B & C grade pennant teams have made their semi-finals. Details are on the NDGA website.

The Handiskins Final was held on Saturday 24th October in rather wet conditions and the $1,000 prize money was shared as follows:
Mark Galloway - $337.50
Rosh Grace - $277.50
Stuart Phegan - $217.50
Mike Davison - $167.50
Total $1,000.00

The Match was abandoned with mutual consent after 9 holes due to rain. Many thanks to Chris Mawson who was the referee in such wet weather.

The Finals of the Moses Scratch Matchplay Championship are due to be held next Saturday, 31st October. All are invited to support both the A and B grade finalists who will hit off at about midday.

The NDGA intends to hold the District Championships for B & C Grade in 2020. The event will be held at Toronto Country Club on Sunday November 22.

The entry forms for the Men’s Championships are now available from Reception.

Safety warning:
Hitting UP the practice fairway is strictly forbidden as it potentially very dangerous and players on the practice tee obviously have right of way. It amazes me that we even have to warn about this but it did happen recently.

The practice chipping area will be open very soon as the removable safety fence is about to be erected. By removing this fence we can create a spare hole when we need to.

Course Security
Dowling Street cart shed gate is regularly being left unlocked after play particularly on Monday & Tuesday afternoons. It is a condition of storing a cart in the Dowling Street shed that the last player out is responsible for securing the gate.

COVID-19 Restrictions Easing
With COVID-19 restrictions easing from Saturday 31st October members will be responsible for scanning their own scorecards at the upstairs match desk. Social distancing is still required and hand sanitizer with be available.

A big thank to the match committee, members’ and staff who have assisted processing scorecards since competitions recommenced.

State of Origin
As in previous years the Club will be televising the three State of Origin matches on the big screens in the function room. A maximum of 80 patrons will be permitted under COVID-19 restrictions with bookings essential.

There will be $15 food specials plus refreshment specials each night.
