Pacific Dunes is proud as punch following their victorious win in the Klosters Port Stephens Inter-Club Golf Challenge, with the final round played at Horizons Golf Resort.
This new and exciting event is the brain child of 3 passionate and avid golfers, Kurt Linde General Manager at Pacific Dunes Golf Club, Brad Jelfs Captain at Horizons Golf Resort and David Rann Captain at Nelson Bay Golf Club.
The event was played at 3 clubs in the stunning Ports Stephens region, Nelson Bay Golf Club on 24th May, Pacific Dunes Golf Club on 19th July with the final round played at Horizons Golf Resort on 25th July with over 257 rounds of golf played.
“The event was seen as a great success uniting 3 clubs together in this great game of golf” said Mr Linde from Pacific Dunes.
Pacific Dunes’ team were the triumphant overall winners of the Inter-Club Golf Challenge by 3 points across the 3 events and walked away with the inaugural trophy.
Thank you to the event sponsor Klosters whom had an immense impact on the event. Through their sponsorship many prizes were awarded over the 3 events including the Kloster’s branded trophy which will proudly be displayed in Pacific Dunes Trophy cabinet, front and centre.
“We are looking forward to next year’s event to see if the trophy moves to a new home or stays where it is. We will also look at the possible growth of the event and invite other clubs to join in”, said Mr Linde
The real winner on the day was the amazing game of golf. New friendships were made and there was plenty of comradery between all players with the new tag line “we are better together”. All courses were presented in great condition and are a credit to the grounds team and staff.
