This year our theme for the day was "The Village People". Our ladies did not disappoint and turned up to play in an array of amazing costumes and of course pink. I am sure everyone had a very enjoyable and fun day. I have not been given the final figures for the amount raised but I am sure with the help of our very generous sponsors and of course everyone who took part it was a very successful day.
This day could not take place without the help and support of Nelson Bay Golf Club. We would like to thank you, Natalie, Mandy and of course your extremely helpful staff. In particular we would like to say special thanks to Terry and Renae, they were amazing, nothing was too much trouble and they like the rest of the staff on duty yesterday helped to make the day a very special occasion. Please pass on our thanks to them all.
Our thanks also to Penny and the girls on Reception who did a wonderful job enlarging and printing our posters.
We would also like to thank Maurie, Maria, Warren and the team in The Pro Shop for all their help in arranging our day. Our congratulations and appreciation to Greg and the Greenstaff for the condition of our wonderful golf course and their help putting out our signs.
Our magnificent men on the Party Hole were fantastic - Bill Harding, Peter Griffin, Neil Goudge, Barry Schultz were aided an abetted by Peter Sutton and Tony Short and of course Jeff Melrose looking awesome as "Running Bare". The boys were wonderful, they were out there for hours and Peter & Tony took turns hitting the ball across the lake for the cost of a gold coin. I am told that only a few ended up in the water - not a bad effort. Champagne and cupcakes were served to the Golfers while music played in the background. Good fun was had by all. Dave Flatt our
Photographer once again managed to get it all on camera.
It was good to be back in our own Clubhouse and the Function Room looked splendid. Our thanks to Tanya & Will for the delicious lunch and cupcakes.
Once again huge thanks to everyone who helped to make our 2018 ''In the Pink Golf Day" not only successful but lots of fun.
